X-Ray Exam
X-ray images are simple and safe. They use a small amount of radiation that is directed toward the place that your physician wants to see. In the case of your shoulder, the radiation source is placed, for example in front of your shoulder with the film located behind your back.
The film that is produced will show a two dimensional picture of your hip. Only dense objects will appear, that means that bone will be shown as white on the film but soft tissues like ligaments will be invisible. Your physician will use the X-ray to see if the bones in your shoulder are damaged.
