Procedure

To realign your leg, the doctor first cuts the tibia just below the knee joint (or femur just above the knee joint). The surgeon will then remove a wedge of bone allowing the leg to be realigned slightly. Several techniques may be used to hold the joint in place including screws or staple, an external fixation frame, immobilization cast or internal plates.
