Taking the Scan

You'll put on a gown and lie down on the scanner's table. The table slides into the MRI. As the scanner is collecting data, you may hear a series of knocking noises. You will not feel any pain during the scan, however some people report that they feel warmth in the area of the scan.

A two-way speaker is located so that you can communicate with the technician during the scan. You may also be able to get headphones to help block some of the knocking noise if needed.

After the scan you can drive yourself home unless you were given some medication to relax yourself. Your physician will examine the MRI scans to help diagnosis your condition.
