Bursitis

The body is filled with many small fluid filled sacs, called bursae. They act as a cushion between bones, tendons and muscles. There are several bursae located on the outside area of the upper leg (femur) called the trochanter. Inflammation of a trochanteric bursa is a called bursitis, a common cause of hip pain
